Pavo Real Archaeological Site

In 1970, two high school students (this seems to be a pattern), Bill Fawcett and Paul McGugg, began exploring possible archaeological sites along ancient Indian trails in the Leon Creek Valley. When a Clovis point was discovered, Michael Collins, was drawn to the site, and archaeologists were led to the hypothesis that Pavo Real Archaeological Site is just one of many sites along the Balcones Escarpment that will be eventually uncovered.
